Diamonds Are Not Forever

Diamonds are not forever,

as their brassy reflection declares.

Obscene gestures of love;

their pride leaves children’s backs bare.

Diamonds are not forever,

nor is their shimmer the splendor in wear;

until they feed hungry toddlers,

they are nothing but gaudy glare.

Diamonds are not forever,

though they strut without a care;

they cannot cease a baby’s crying

or answer a sick child’s prayers.

Diamonds are not forever.

Mathew 6:24 – “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money…”

  1. Sorry yesterday I was so busyfacilitating youth group and taught at night and of course preparing for my studies all day. I’m blessed, but tired from a week and weekend of ministry
