Sociopaths and Narcissists are both dangerous. But the difference is that Narcissists harm because of their need of fuel whereas Sociopaths injure because they enjoy hurting people for entertainment purposes.
Every Sociopath is also a Narcissist, but not every Narcissistic person is a Sociopath.
When a person twists our minds or violates our hearts, let us get the heck away from them- fast!– no matter their label.
Let us regain our foundation, grounding ourselves in unwavering boundaries, and continue to trust our gut instinct even if no one else believes us. This will help to deter these ravenous animals from leeching off our humanity.
“I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves..” Mathew 10:16

This is true. We have to believe in ourselves and move away from negative people, but most of the time we don’t even know them, they might be our best friends, our loved ones etc. The world is full of Narcissists and Sociopaths.

Astute observation, Tamara. Understanding the distinction is crucial to overcoming the depravity. Making sense of the nuances, I suppose, unlocks the difference between merely surviving, and triumphing.
Your skill at the latter has allowed not just to overcome your own difficulties, but to provide hope and light for others.
Such accomplishment would’ve been impossible without the sophisticated knowledge you acquired.
