Biblical Perspective: My Cat Hates Me –
My foot darted out to push my cat away from the open door. I didn’t want him to get out because at nighttime wild animals roam the neighborhood and several of them are carnivores.
The cat didn’t understand why I would stop him from the thing he wanted to do most- scampering through the dark forest while venturing to satiate his curiosity.
I couldn’t convey to him the dangers of wandering the woods after sunset. His perception remained limited in comprehending that my refusal to allow him to do as he pleased was because I love him.
This scenario is something that God faces each moment with his children. We desire to do certain things, but The Lord holds us back because such actions would cause us great harm.
Our awareness of God’s goodness remains dim, so we believe that he must not love us if he disagrees with our fancies. But God knows how to protect and safeguard us from dangerous threats in which we know nothing.
We can trust in Him; he has our wellbeing in his plan, whether we agree with his decisions.
I have a secret to tell you! God loves each of us in much greater excess (this is an understatement) than I love my cat. This is because his love is all-encompassing! God is love.
P.S. My cat hates me at the moment. But I still love him.
.
Proverbs 3:12
For the LORD corrects those he loves, just as a father corrects a child in whom he delights.
.
Revelation 3:19
Those I love, I rebuke and discipline.
