Rain

Dear

foreboding,

overcast weather

that waxes and wanes,

please give us full sun,

or heavy,

horse-galloping rain!

RAIN

I like days of rain; heavy, horse-galloping rain! Overcast days, however, make me feel dissociated and deeply unsettled, as if the day, itself, is in a foreboding stage of not knowing if it wants to be full of sun, or have it’s earth, beneath it, rained upon. It is this disturbing, ‘in-between stage‘ that distresses me.

John 13:7

Jesus replied, ‘You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand.“

  1. Oh please send us some of that rain as we are in dire need of it – it’s so sad seeing the plight of our animals having no drinking water and no feed – some towns are having to get water trucked in and the bushfires are just shocking … I fear for our beautiful planet and worry about these narcissistic leaders of the moment! …

  2. How did you get inside my head, Tamara? That’s exactly how I feel about the situation! In general, give me sunshine, but a good downpour is cool too, particularly when it’s enjoyed from somewhere snug and cozy.

On the other hand, clouds milling about, doing nothing, pleases nobody. Worst of all is when there aren’t even clouds, just a featureless sea of grey. Aesthetic nausea. Ugh!

Looks like God forgot to turn on the sky this morning.
