Red Flags –
Pinterest is an enjoyable network for me because there are all kinds of cool Pins on there, including easy recipes. Anyway, normally Pinterest is not a “personal message” type of site, like on Fakebook… errr, Facebook.
So, just yesterday, I got a private message from “a gentleman” telling me he really liked my Pins, and he has been getting “hints of my personality” via the things I am adding to my boards.
I replied, “Thank you”, but wanted to assure him that he knew nothing of my personality, or even my innermost personhood, from my memes.
He replied, “Well, I’ve just been gazing at your pins. I’d like to know more about you. Please tell me more. Where are you from? What’s your real name?”
In reply, I blocked him.
1). One does not gaze at my Pins on Pinterest; they are reading material. It’s not like they are pictures of centerfolds. Most of all my Pins are Memes and Quotes;
2). Why would I tell a complete online-stranger my real name?
3). He asked me to tell him more about myself, yet offers up no information about himself. Again, why would I tell a total stranger about myself, especially when he doesn’t have the decency, as the initiator of contacting me, to first tell me who he is?
4). Upon my asking him how long he’d been on Pinterest, his reply was to tell me he’d been on this platform for about two years. If he’d been on it for nearly two years, and only has about five Pins (which suggested he was not active on Pinterest), why would he suddenly, out-of-the-blue, be gazing at my Pins, and wanting to know more about me”?
My intuition kicked in and said, “Bullsh*t”.
I hope this short-lived experience helps others become more aware of subtle Red Flags!
Also, lol, if any of you are on Pinterest or Twitter, feel free to connect with me, and I will return the Follow. All of my Memes on Narcissistic Abuse, and several other subjects, are on Pinterest.
1 Corinthians 3:19-20
For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, “He has taken the wise in their craftiness.” And again, “The Lord knows the reasoning of the wise, that it is worthless.”
