Cruel World, Good Bye –
Your bruised seas
engulf the innocent,
and sink the brave
into the depths of reckless confusion.

Your wayward companions
with their gluttonous, razor-sharp teeth,
sting hearts, laden with gold,
and etch away the will of goodly spirits.

Your deep, roaring waves
echo their brazen, faithless victory,
as does the adulterer in the throes
of seizing the next conquest.

Take heed; soon will come upon you
His Inquisitions into your wicked deeds;
held accountable for engulfing the humble,
you will tremble upon your own scorched sands.

Your proud display of power
will drown you within its own molten embers;
your companions will save you not;
only then will you cry out.
