Friend of Mine

Friend of mine

Friend of Mine –

Is there a friend

who will stand,

and not bend,

or do they all

get swept away

like silk petals

on fading

Is there a friend

who will begin,

and not end,

or do they all

swim away

while seagulls

Is there a friend

who will receive,

and not send,

or do they all

drift away

like red-winged

in search

of higher

If this poem doesn’t make sense, it’s because I had sand and onion soup in my eyes while I was writing it… so, that’s why.

Romans 3:23

For all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God.

    1. I’m sure you are a fantastic friend, Michelle. I think we both are 😊 good friends. Misunderstandings arise, sometimes, and that’s normal. I just got the word “friend” & “end” stuck in my mind and needed to write a poem using those two words. ♥️

        1. You are very kind and sweet, Michelle. I am glad we are friends. I really liked you video, too. It’s so cool that you made that. I don’t know how to put videos on WordPress. It was a bit difficult to hear you, but it was very clear, visually, and you looked really pretty.

            1. I couldn’t find the comment on your blog where I wrote that you are right to be cautious… I wanted to add this:
“Listen! I am sending you out just like sheep to a pack of wolves. You must be as cautious as snakes and as gentle as doves.”

              1. It’s OK Nika I put scripture in wrong post too, as I meant to put my second one on the post where I put the first one talking about peace…. It’s easily done…

        2. I will check out your blog for your new posts after I call my dad. I am a bit telephone-phobic, but really need to call him. I’d much rather text, than talk, but he has difficulty with texting.

          1. Do not be anxious over anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication along with thanksgiving let your petitions be made known to God; and the peace of God that excels all thought will guard your hearts and your mental powers by means of Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6, 7)

    1. Oh, I thought I replied to this, but see that I didn’t. That’s my second “duhh” of the day. I wonder if I’ll get a third one; probably.

I am an introvert, mostly. So, I do well on my own, but I also love being around my wonderful family, friends, and thoughtful people, such as you!

  1. Considering the sand and onion soup issue, I think you wrote this brilliantly 😉
It makes me a little sad to think most of my friends drifted away like red-winged dragons, in search of someone better, easier to hang out with, less complicated. But I’ve found solid friendship in the online world and I’ve grown a lot stronger on my own, so it’s a good job I like my own company! xx
