Macaroni And Cheese

Macaroni and Cheese, Poem

Macaroni and Cheese –

My house cleaning

has utterly

all gone to pieces;

my clothes have rips, stains,

and deeply,

imbedded creases.

My bed is thrashed,

unmade and flung

to the opposite side;

do not bother knocking

at my door; from every guest,

I will run away and hide.

No longer do I clean

or wipe countertops down;

my hungry pets glare at me,

with an angry,

snarling frown.

Perhaps all this

will cause me a disease;

My immune system is down,

since all I ever eat

is Macaroni & Cheese.

This ongoing crisis is due

to thousands of rhymes whirling

inside my word-congested head;

but, if cease my writing,

the pressure will blow-up my brain-

and, I will surely, then, be dead.

I do need to get my act together;

that’s what my non-writing

friends happen to say;

And, I tell them that I will do so,

after I am allotted just

one more blogging day.

These days have quickly

turned into months;

forget about even weeks.

I guess I need some intervention,

since I am floating from two

slow-dripping, faucet leaks.

My Macaroni and Cheese

is burning, so I must end

this rhythmic poem;

actually, I will put out all fires later;

after all, I can still write poetry

even without a home.
